Adults with Disabilities Health Check

People with learning disabilities can face more challenges with their physical and mental health—but with the right support, things can look very different. In order for our practice to best support you, we invite all patients over the age of 14 who are registered on our learning disability register to attend an annual health check.

An annual health check provides the opportunity to discuss your health with a doctor or nurse, allowing potential issues to be identified early and addressed promptly. You do not need to be unwell to benefit from this check—many people attend their annual health check when they are feeling well.

If you have concerns about seeing a doctor or if there is anything that could make your appointment more comfortable, please inform your doctor or nurse. They are able to make reasonable adjustments to accommodate your needs and ensure the visit is as supportive as possible.

If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to contact us.
